Kavya Madhavan started her acting career as a child artist in the malayalam movie Pookalam Varavai directed by Kamal.As a heroine kavya's debut film was Lal Jose's Chandranudikkunna dikkil with malayalam actor Dileep.In that time she was studying in 9th Standard.It was a box office hit malayalam movie . She got vest actress Kerala state award twice in the movie Perumazhakkalam (2004) and Gadhama (2010).

She married Nishal chandra in 2009 after she went to kuwait for stay with her Husband .But after 1 year she return to Kerala and returned a divorce petition in family court.Kavya and Nishal appeard before the ernakulam family court in may 2011 and express their willingness for a mutual divorce .She was granted divorce by court on 11 may 2011.
